The Game's Basic Abilities
- Pokemon CentersPlace where you heal your injured Pokemon; You only need to simple enter the building with the Red Roof to heal, no need to go up to Nurse Joy.
- MembershipA Membership allows you to gain extra money and EXP from battles. You become 4 times more likely to see a SHINY Pokemon. You gain FREE LV 5 Pikachu and Scyther. Also, you can donate money to gain Uncatchables. To gain a Membership, you must donate $5 (yes, real U.S. Dollars) per month at http://playerdex.com. A Membership will only work if you are logged out of the game.
- Pokemon MartsWhere you buy help Items; for now, you can only buy Pokeballs, Potions, Super Potions, or Good Rods. It's a building with a blue roof. If you can't buy Items, scroll all the way down to my signature and download my Rapidshare link.
- GymsIn Pokemon games, bosses known as Gym Leaders are located in certain cities. Defeating them is usually important for getting past a city (some cities you can't exit, you need to defeat the Gym Leaders first). When you defeat a Gym Leader, you will earn an official badge as a reward. However, if you do not see Gym Leaders (or NPCs for that matter) scroll down to my signature and download my Rapidshare link.
- World MapThere is currently no world map present in the game, Google the Pokemon Kanto / Johto map, or check the forums for a map.
- ReputationReputation is a meter that allows you to battle certain NPCs (non-playable characters or computer-controlled trainers) or Trade. To gain more rep, you must win a trainer battle. You gain 0.2 rep for each NPC win OR 1/20 of your opponenets rep in a PvP (Player vs. Player, Real Human Trainer vs. Real Human Trainer). You need 3 to challenge Gym Leader Brock. Type /rep to check your current reputation.
- Money GainYou gain Pokemoney for each Pokemon you defeat, even in the wild. Money plays a huge role in the game especially through Trading. You also need money (25,000 or 25K) for a Good Rod.
- Trading/SellingThis function used to be accessable with only 14 reps. Now, you need 100 reps due to a hacker invasion in the past. To Trade, you must be in the same Pokemon Center as the person you're trading with. Then, you can either right-click the person and select Trade insert name of person or type /trade name of person (likewise with the other person).
- Dropped ItemsOccasionally, you will defeat a wild Pokemon and gain an Item such as Pokeballs, Potions, etc. Items such as Flower Seeds, Wild Mushrooms, Shiny Rocks, Bronze Ores, Wood Planks, Rose Petals, Iron Ores, Stemmed Roses or any other miscellaneous items not listed currently have no use yet. Kyro plans to give purposes to these Items in the future so be patient and keep those Items for now.
- Rebattling NPCsWhether you win or lose to an NPC, you must wait 2 weeks to face them again. They will most likely become more powerful by then. However, if you lose to a Gym Leader you must wait 1.5 Days (36 Hours) until you get a rematch. This time should be used for training so don't complain. If you defeat a Gym Leader, you may not face them again.
- PlayerdexReliable source of other trainers or your own personal info. At http://playerdex.com, you can view your Pokemon, view other Trainers, view a list of Catchable Pokemon, make Friends, tutor new moves to your Pokemon (no TMs or HMs), discover who are the current top trainers/guilds, and more.
- FishingYou can only fish if you have a Good Rod from a Pokemon Mart (Costs 25,000 or 25K). Use the Good Rod next to water (not on the corners of the water mass). 3 things can happen: One, you can encounter a Wild Pokemon in battle. Two, you may fail to encounter a Pokemon; just keep trying. Three, you don't have enough skill to battle a Pokemon; to raise Fishing Skill, keep encountering Fished Pokemon in battles and it will increase (or keep doing the first thing listed here). Fishing Skill allows you to battle certain Pokemon that can only be caught by Fishing. Check Fishing Skill by typing /fish Also, the Good Rod's use will reset every 10 seconds.
- Secret ZonesThere has been talk of Secret Zones in the game. Do not ask where they are, they are easy to find anyway. There are currently only 2 Secret Zones (Secret Area 1 & Secret Tunnel)
- Custom MapsSecret Area 1, Secret Tunnel, Water Lab, and Cinabbar Tunnel are currently the custom maps added to the game. They do NOT appear in GameBoy games. Expect more Custom Maps to come for a Custom Region was created. Don't ask me when it will be added, I honestly don't know too much about it.
- CommandsCertain commands allow help throughout the game. By typing this in the chatbox and entering, you will have newfound knowledge or other type of help. I will list them here:
- /help - opens the FAQ window. However, this FAQ is long outdated so not every piece of info in it may be right.
- /rep - allows you to check your current Reputation
- /battle insert trainer's name - sends a battle invitation to another player. The other player must accept to trigger a PvP battle. Alternatively, right-click a player close to you and click on Battle insert trainer's name.
- /accept insert trainer's name - when sent a battle invitation, typing this will trigger a PvP battle.
- /ref (short for /refresh) - Refreshes the game. If you are stuck in Viridian Forest and can't get into Pewter City, use this command to get out.
- /fish (short for /fishing) - Checks your Fishing Skill.
- /trade insert trainer's name - Only works in Pokemon Centers. Requests a trade to another person (the other person must also type /trade your name to open the Trade Window). Alternatively, right-click the person you're trading with to send a Trade Request.
- /release # - Release a Pokemon in your Party. Example: If Metapod is in the 4th Position in my Party, I type /release 4. There should be a message if I'm sure I want to release it. I type /release 4 again and it's outta my hair.
- /list - shows a list of Catchable Pokemon and their rarity in the area you're currently in.
- /list Pokemon's Name - Shows where the Pokemon is Catchable at.
- /list Name of Place - Displays a list of Catchable Pokemon in that area and their rarity.
- /location - Displays where you are plus the coordinates (X,Y)
- PM'ing (Private Messaging)Go to the Who's Online list on the bottom right corner. Click the person's name to open a Private Chat window. This also works for people who are in your Friends List (the only shortcut).
- Friend's List/friend insert name here currently does NOT work properly. Go to http://playerdex.com and login with your username and password. Then, do a Trainer Search on the person you want to befriend. When accessing the person's profile, look for the Befriend command. If you see a message saying "Profile Hidden", ask your friend to go to Playerdex and login. Then, ask him/her to go to My Modules, Change My Security Levels, and set Profile Security to Anybody. You should be able to access your friend's profile now. The other person must login to Playerdex and accept your Friend Request. GLITCH: Do not be surprised if your 1st Friend does not appear in your Friend's List. Click above the first ... and you should be able to open a PM box with him/her.
- GuildsA guild is an organization of people with a common goal or purpose. Some would call it a "clan". You currently cannot officially make guild at the moment but you may make an unofficial guild in the forums. When you make the real deal, you need lots of money (I believe the cost was previously 6 million PokeMoney, I don't know about now) to fund it and you must have a few people in the guild already (organization of the guild is everything). You may request to join another existing guild by going to their page in the forums.
- MembershipA Membership allows you to gain extra money and EXP from battles. You become 4 times more likely to see a SHINY Pokemon. You will recieve a free pokemon and/or items for subscribing (Review the membership signup page for details). Also, you can donate money to gain Uncatchables. To gain a Membership, you must donate $5 (yes, real U.S. Dollars) per month at http://playerdex.com. A Membership will only work if you are logged out of the game.
- Uncatchablesthe name says it all. There are certain Pokemon not Catchable in the game. They can only be gained with a Membership which will be located in http://playerdex.com Donating $5 per month will get you a Membership. Donating $7 while having a Membership will allow you to select any Uncatchable you wish to have (except SHINIES and Legendaries).
